MAX EBRECHT WINS A MUDDY UCI JUNIOR SERIES OF THE SHIMANO SUPER CUP MASSI BANYOLES

The rain soaked the circuit and turned the race into a tough test of technique and endurance

Max Ebrecht takes the victory in the UCI Junior Series of the Shimano Super Cup Massi Banyoles 2025. The German rider won on a muddy circuit, punished by incessant rain from early afternoon. Innes McDonald and Van Lee Jari were second and third respectively, while Guillermo Parrado and Samuel Cleary completed the top five

The race started on a slow and heavy track, after hours of rain that ended up filling every corner of the track with mud. Umbrellas were opened to protect the runners in the moments before the start, although the protection ended shortly afterwards. The race started with strict punctuality and the more than 150 participants – the best Juniors on the planet – gave themselves to a long hour of competition.

After a start that saw a small, but inconsequential, traffic jam, Ebrecht was able to get into a good position in the early stages of the race and used his skill to survive the uncomfortable conditions, which resulted in nine retirements. The attempts to open up a gap eventually paid off and Ebrecht flew through the mud of Banyoles.

In a show of grit, Ebrecht rode like no one else around the course and rode to the finish line to take the UCI Junior Series crown at the Shimano Super Cup Massi Banyoles 2025. Innes McDonald, Van Lee Jari, Guillermo Parrado and Samuel Cleary rode solo to complete the top five.
